Did you know that lemon is one of the most popular fruits in the world? Although it was originally cultivated in Asia, the fruit is present in the diet of most Brazilians, whether it is to season a salad, make a dessert or a refreshing lemonade.
It is estimated that there are around 100 types of lemon spread around the world. In Brazil the best known and most consumed are: Galego, Siciliano, Cravo and Tahiti. What many people don’t know is that Tahiti and Galician are actually species derived from lemon, the so-called sour limes. Cloves, on the other hand, come from a blend of tangerine and lemon.
Rich in minerals, soluble fiber, vitamin C and antioxidants, the famous citrus fruit can be consumed in multiple ways, so you will have no excuse not to introduce lemon in your diet.
