Eucalyptus is a tree native to Australia, which has long been used for a variety of purposes. One of the most common uses of the plant is inhaling its vapor, which helps relieve respiratory problems. But eucalyptus also has the power to ward off insects and relieve joint pain. In addition, the herbal bath relaxes and soothes while providing energy. “There are days when we feel tired and that’s totally normal. The eucalyptus bath is a pleasant way to do a good energetic cleansing and to fight against discouragement, ”explains holistic therapist Aline Soares.

According to scientific research, eucalyptus also has analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties, stimulates the immune system and prevents oral diseases. Usually it is okay to use eucalyptus in the bath, but the therapist suggests a test: “Not all people adapt to the smell well and there are cases where an allergy can develop. Therefore, the ideal is that the first baths are made with few branches of the plant. So the person can feel whether it is good for him or not ”.

Among the various advantages of the eucalyptus bath, one cannot fail to highlight its ease of preparation. “For a good energetic and soothing bath, all you need is leaves – fresh or dry – of eucalyptus and hot water”, teaches Aline. But first of all, it is good to know that this ritual cannot be done often. The therapist warns that “in excess, eucalyptus can cause dizziness, allergic reactions and vomiting. Therefore, it is recommended that the bath be done at most once a week ”. The eucalyptus bath is also not suitable for pregnant women, young children and asthmatics.

In the shower

A very simple option for taking that invigorating bath is to hang eucalyptus branches inside the shower stall. Wash the sheets, wait for them to dry, then place them near the shower. The steam will release the properties of the plant. Then throw the branch, preferably in a garden.

with hot water

Another way to prepare a good eucalyptus bath is to make tea with the leaves of the plant. To do this, boil two liters of water, turn off the heat and put a handful in the water. Stifle and wait for this tea (which should be greenish-brown in color) to reach a pleasant temperature for the bath, then filter. After taking the hygienic bath, pour this water over the body, from the neck down, and wait for it to dry naturally.

in the bathtub

Dissolving eucalyptus leaves or using essential oil in the tub is also a good choice to enjoy the benefits of this bath. You can, as in the previous article, brew a tea and pour it into the tub, or even drip a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil dissolved in the tub water. Take a soaking bath for about 20 minutes, then come out refreshed!
